THE Kindergarten Performance by Michael Enoch Hill!

The end of the school year is upon us and it is time for THE Kindergarten performance. You know what I am talking about, the songs, the pictures, and the cute teacher hug. It was Enoch's turn to participate in THE Kindergarten performance and he did an AWESOME job! At the beginning of the school year Enoch asked that he be called by his first name "Michael" at school and by his middle name, which is what we have called him since he was born, "Enoch" at home. So here are some pictures of our handsome Micheal Enoch and his kindergarten class.

Tornadoes, Cello, and Prom...Oh My!

This week, after being so close to Joplin MO and other towns who were hit by tornadoes, I am counting blessings. I am humbled by how quickly lives can be changed. It's amazing the outpouring of support that has come from Northwest Arkansas to the people in Joplin. It has also been good to see 500+ members of our church volunteer this weekend to work on the clean up. I love living here among so many self sacrificing people.

A few of the ongoings in our home over the last few weeks: We enjoyed watching Meagan play her cello on the lawn of Old High Middle School. Enoch went to the Emergency Room at the Hospital to get stitches in his leg after slicing it on some glass in the grass. Emily had a successful lemonade stand to earn money to purchase a pet. Everyone had finals and we are all excited for school to be out. Brittany and Sarah were asked to go to a Home-school Prom and they had a wonderful time. Several nights were spent watching the weather because of all the tornado sirens. Sarah tried out and made it into the color guard for band again for this next year. And we participated in a ward service day at a local youth homeless center.

Most of all we loved being together and pray that the survivors from this awful weather will be blessed.

Obsessed with Music and Emily

As many of you know our family is obsessed with music. It is rare to find a moment in our home without someone singing, an instrument being played, or music drifting from some device. We have found that uplifting music calms our souls, invites the Spirit of the Lord, draws the individuals in our family together, and helps the tedious pass by quickly.

This week Emily sang in her Spring Choir concert and did a MARVELOUS job! Way to go Emily! She is also planning on learning how to play the flute over this next year.

Mother's Day and 500 Butterflies!

Today is Mother's Day and my wonderful family made a delicious breakfast, gave me flowers, love notes and my favorite hazelnut chocolate candy! :) Happy Mother's Day to Grandma, Nana, and Great Nannaw!

Brittany and Sarah had their Spring band performance on Tuesday and they did a MARVELOUS job! Brittany plays the French horn in the high school Symphonic Band. Sarah plays the clarinet in the high school Wind Ensemble. This was the last performance for their band directors because they are retiring. Apparently Sarah's band is the talk of the state of Arkansas because of their excellent performance during concert contest! Videos of the Spring concert will be forthcoming.

Christine Homer taught me how to cut Snickers hair and both ears are starting to stand up instead of just one.

Saturday Emily sang the National Anthem at the Naturals (local minor league baseball team) game with her middle school choir and they sounded beautiful! There were 500 Monarch butterflies released at the game for mental health awareness. We had a lot of fun cheering for our home team, but unfortunately they lost. Video posted on facebook.

Jared had his first class this week for his masters degree in Information Assurance with Capital College and we  are all excited for him to have been accepted into this program.

Nathanael can stand without holding onto anything...walking is around the corner!

We almost have our garden completely planted! This year we gave each child their own plot in the garden to plant and care for what they want. They seem to enjoy taking charge of their own plants, we will see how well this works out.

Happy Mother's Day!

Meagan's Spring Concert

Rain, rain, and more rain describes the weather here in Centerton this last week. Flood warnings have been pretty regular, fortunately we have not had any problems with the water.

This week we had the pleasure of attending Meagan's orchestra concert. Meagan has been playing the cello since last August and has discovered a new talent! A beautiful instrument for a beautiful girl.
