Sarah's Birthday

This is a bit belated, but I must include Sarah's birthday pictures in our blog!
Sarah had a surprise friend birthday party and loved being with her friends.

We also went to Roaring Rivers and had fun playing in the cold water.

Welcome Home!

Well I sure haven't been keeping up with our blog over the last few months. Jared was offered a job as an instructor at Vista College in Longview, TX this summer and we have spent the last few months moving! Fortunately we have LOTS of family in this area and we have been welcomed home by many friends and family in the area. Jared's grandmother Ruby Denton said it was a "miracle" that we had moved back here.

The kids are in a small school that seems to fit them just about perfectly. Brittany is singing in the show choir, playing french horn and baritone in band and part of a community ballroom dance team. Sarah was able to sign up for another art class this year, is playing clarinet in the marching band and is also part of the dance team.

Meagan switched over to playing the Saxophone in band because there is not an orchestra at the school. It worked out fine because she has an extended cousin playing saxophone as well. Meagan is also in art this year and she has her Aunt Tommie as her math teacher! Emily is starting band with the flute this year and has signed up with the drama club because according to her "it's her personality!" Enoch has jumped right into 1st grade and loves the playground that they have. He spends a lot of time climbing the trees in our yard and making a fort. This is Grant's last school year home with mom and it has been a transition for him to go from playing with Enoch all the time to playing with Nathanael. Grant seems to enjoy the country setting we live in and is starting to play with Nathanael a little bit more. Nathanael is walking and running trying to keep up with everyone. He has the funnest laugh and dancing blue eyes. I am still in school full time and just came home from a trip to Utah to see my brother Tyler married in the Logan Temple!

We miss our family and friends that we do not live by. But we are glad to be now living by so many old friends and family.

New Family Member and Girls Camp!

Yahoo! School is out and Summer has begun. All of the kids got very high grades in all of their classes and we our so happy that they had such a successful school year.

The older girls went to girls church camp this last week and had a wonderful time and all said that their testimonies were strengthened from the experience. On the first night of camp a storm came through and the Priesthood leaders felt that all of the girls should come into the lodge. Sure enough a tree fell on one of the tents! We are glad no one was hurt and that the leaders listened to the Spirit.

We added a new member to our family! A guinea pig named Annabelle. She is a rescued pet from an animal shelter that a volunteer had brought home. So far we have really enjoyed Emily's new pet and Annabelle even sits in a stroller to go for walks.

Nathanael can now walk very small distances!

Enoch and Grant love to build forts out of our couch furniture! I remember doing this when I was a kid.

Happy Father's Day to all the father's in our extended family.
