Family, Easter, and the Weather.

I am excited to share the fun week we had with all of you!

We throughly enjoyed a surprise visit from Aunt Jenny and Uncle Kendell from Texas. While they were here we had a tornado come within 10 miles of our home and things were a little tense. Thankfully we did not have any damage like many areas did that night.  Apparently this is a record breaking month for tornadoes in the United States.

Easter festivities were held at 5:45 AM this year so that Jared could watch before he had to go to work. Many of the candy filled eggs were hidden in the house due to bad weather. There were about 3 dozen boiled eggs hidden outside in the swampy yard though. So the kids went looking for eggs just as the sun came up behind the threatening clouds and came back wet and laughing. Then it started to rain and I don't think it has stopped since. Last I heard we have had over 10 inches of rain since Friday and 4 more coming this Monday afternoon! At least I have a good excuse not to go water or weed the garden.

We are all grateful for the time we had to spend as a family reflecting on the atonement, death, and resurrection of Christ this last weekend. We have truly been given a great gift from our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, I pray we may all cherish it daily.

We Are Not Growing a Garden, But Children.

Over the last two weeks we have been planting our garden for this year. We are blessed to have a church with a garden plot that they prep for gardening and it happens to be 10 min walking with a stroller away. Last year we had a garden at this plot as well. This year we have TWO plots and I am beginning to think I was a bit over optimistic. So we have over 1,500 square feet to keep free of weeds! Thankfully my mom taught me how to mulch garden and last year's weeds weren't too bad. We will see how this year turns out. I am reminded that we are not growing a garden, but children. It's amazing how hard work molds our family. So, I guess I will keep the garden.

Brittany, Sarah and Meagan got to go to the Oklahoma City Temple yesterday to do baptisms. They had a wonderful day and enjoyed their time there. This was Meagan's first time to go.

Our family started a new challenge for the year. We went off sugar again and we are exercising at least three times a week. The reward is undecided, but it may be new bikes for everyone. Or maybe we will take another mini vacation.

We did have a tornado warning over this last week and thankfully no tornadoes visited us in Centerton. Our prayers go out to the victims of more than 200 tornadoes that came from the storm over the south during the last three days.

Here are a few pictures of the boys. Nathanael enjoys holding Snickers on the leash and poor Snickers is under 3 pounds and has no way to escape!

Enoch and Grant LOVE their bikes and spend a lot of time outside riding bikes around the neighborhood.

Snickers quite often can be found cuddled up next to Nathanael in his car seat.

We love and miss all our family and friends, and hope that you have a great week.

Happy Birthday Emily!

Emily is ELEVEN!  We had a wonderful birthday party for Emily. A BIG thank you to friends and family who helped make Emily's birthday special this year. For her party we made personal pizzas, shrinky dinks, and played games.

What! At eight months Nathanael now thinks he can walk. Oh course he can't walk and he just falls down. But he spends hours trying.
